2010 Aug 08 - Lunch in Lodi

2010 Aug 08 - Lunch in Lodi
Shangra La Asian Restaurant

Gary, Tom and Tish are coming to Lodi from the San Francisco Bay Area to have lunch today. So we are first meeting up at Wally's home. Tuna and I ride together. Ollie stayed at his sister's home in Stockton and drives down and Art lives in Lodi and also drives over.

Those coming over from the Bay Area are college friends and all of the locals plus Ollie who grew up in Stockton once stayed in the same Steiner Street apartment in San Francisco at one time or another. Except for Wally whose home this is and is Koby's younger brother.

After a prolonged Bull Session it is time to go to lunch. We pile into two cars and head to the center of Lodi for lunch.

A little late with the camera, a veggie dish and Mongolian Pork

Some kind of chicken, a noodle dish and Walnut Prawns

Gary is still eating but Tish is finished

We have another long Bull Session after lunch. Almost after lunch as Wally, the youngster of this crowd, has to eat up all the "left overs". The stories of 40 plus years ago feel like recent events until we get up to leave and realize that we are now Medi-Care age and no longer move nearly as quickly.

Back to Wally's place for pie a la mode and coffee. But the pie portions are cut in half. Age may have caught up with some of us. :-)

2010 Aug 07 - Dinner at Tuna's

2010 Aug 07 - Dinner at Tuna's
Stockton, CA

This evening there are five of us old time childhood friends getting together for dinner at Tuna's home. The occasion is Koby, who for the past 29 years has lived in Australia is visiting the States for six weeks. All of us played baseball and other sports together since Little League days. And three of us are old college roommates. Koby gets back to the States infrequently.
Here is "Ollie", "Oscar" {for his acting ability}

Everybody brought something to the dinner.
Tadashi brought a huge platter of Lumpia

We had eaten a bunch before this photo

Waiting for the guest of honor.

Salad and fresh Genova Italian twist bread

Tuna is the chef making a dish called Cajun BBQ Prawns

It is actually a sauteed dish in a spicy sauce, then he adds more peppers to make it spicy and hot.

Here is the second loaf of bread. This one is a plain Farmer's Loaf from Genova Bakery.

Dessert is a Fruit Torte and a Burnt Almond Cake from Peter's Bakery of San Jose, CA
